Boxing tonight preview as Anthony Yarde returns to the ring against Dec Spelman

Anthony Yarde fights for the second time this year – and the first behind closed doors – when he takes on Dec Spelman tonight.

Yarde is plotting a second path to a world title shot having been stopped by former light-heavyweight ruler Sergey Kovalev last year.

The Londoner was last in action in February when he dispatched Colombian Diego Jair Ramirez in the second round.

And should he take care of business, Yarde will be propelled into a clash with countryman Lyndon Arthur.

Arthur himself moved to 17-0 as a professional with his own win over Spelman in July.

Here is everything you need to know about tonight's fights…

The Fight Card

Anthony Yarde vs Dec Spelman (10 rounds at light-heavyweight)

Mark Heffron vs Denzel Bentley (10 rounds at middleweight for the IBF European title)

Cedrick Peynaud vs Ekow Essuman (10 rounds at welterweight for the IBF European title)

Mohammad Bilal Ali vs TBC (X rounds at lightweight)

Amin Jahanzeb vs TBC (X rounds at featherweight)

Joshua Frankham vs TBC (X rounds at super-welterweight)

One To Watch

There have only been a handful of 50-50 fights since boxing resumed this summer but the bookies are struggling to split Mark Heffron and Denzel Bentley.

With only one defeat in 39 fights between them (Heffron lost to Liam Williams two years ago), this could be the making of either man.

Heffron was brought on slowly after making his professional debut in 2010 and has consistently struggled for momentum and only one of his four fights since his defeat by Williams has been against a fighter with a winning record

Bentley, meanwhile, has won each of his 13 professional fights but has yet to be tested and we will have a far better idea of his potential come the final bell.

How to Watch

The fights will be shown on BT Sport 1 tonight. The programme starts at 7.30pm following the conclusion of West Ham vs Arsenal in the Premier League.

The show will run until midnight which suggests the main event between Yarde and Spellman will not start before 11pm.

The fights can be streamed via the BT Sport app on your mobile device or computer, and if you are an EE customer but not a BT subscriber, you could be eligible for three months of BT Sport free. Click here for more details.

Quotes Corner

Yarde: "The people want explosive action and knockouts, so I will not be hiding behind my jab and sending everyone to sleep.

"This will be all about me reminding people that I am the force of the division and I am heading right back to the top where I intend to dominate and reign for a long time to come.

"I respect Dec Spelman as a fighter but this is the chance for me to show everyone what they can expect when I get to share a ring with Lyndon Arthur."

Spelman: "It's one I'm looking forward to. He's going to stand there and have it with me and that's what I want, that's what I like. He says he's going to do it so bring it on.

"I think he's very good, I really rate him. I'm a boing fan in general so I've enjoyed watching his fights in general.

"He went to Russia and that showed balls but it's me and him in the ring and I've got to back myself."

Best Bet

Mark Heffron brings the greater experience to the ring for his fight with Denzel Bentley and he can make his power pay in the second half.

Back him to stop Bentley in rounds six to ten at 9/2, available with Sky Bet.
