Conor McGregor took aim at Nate Diaz after his rival singled out Max Holloway and Rose Namajunas for praise following their fights at UFC 251.
The UFC duo experienced mixed fortunes at ‘Fight Island’ as Namajunas won a close battle against Jessica Andrade and Holloway lost a controversial decision to featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski.
Diaz has not fought since his loss to Jorge Masvidal last November, but the 35-year-old clearly had one eye on a stacked UFC 251 card.
He said on Twitter: ‘Shoutout to Rose and Max, they robbed Max tho but 100 to the real fighters out there.’
McGregor and Diaz have a long-running rivalry and the Irishman appeared to take exception with the American piping up on social media.
‘Shut your bi*chass up,’ McGregor replied, before deciding to delete the tweet.
Fight fans had already screenshotted McGregor’s comment and the minor flashpoint will only add fuel to hope of a third fight between the MMA superstars.
McGregor beat Diaz in their rematch in 2016 after he had been submitted in their first fight earlier that year.
Despite announcing his retirement last month, UFC president Dana White has hinted McGregor is likely to fight again in 2021.
McGregor had promised this year would be his comeback season before the coronavirus pandemic hit the globe.
