Dana White: ‘Most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen’

Fight fans were left seeing red on Sunday during the UFC Vegas 10 card and UFC boss Dana White joined the chorus of outrage.

In the third fight on the main card, Ed Herman and Mike Rodriguez locked horns but it was in the second round when things turned sour.

As Rodriguez and Herman were locked up in a clinch against the cage, Rodriguez delivered a knee to the body of Herman that sent him crashing to the canvas.

Rodriguez jumped on his opponent and thought the fight was going to be brought to an end only for the referee, Chris Tognoni, to call for a time-out.

Tognoni called for the stop after believing the knee from Rodriguez landed below the belt on Herman only for replays to show it had cleanly clattered into his abdomen.

It meant the fight should have been brought to an end via TKO, however Herman was allowed to take five minutes to compose himself before the fight got back underway.

😂 Not fair… That wasn’t Groin,

Herman: « I don't know where I got hurt, but I know I was hurt and I went down. I don't know if it was the groin or the body » I mean… Come on ? #UFCVegas10 pic.twitter.com/KXGNZ88R4A

“I don’t know where I got hit but I know I was hurt and I went down. I don’t know if it was the groin or the body but all I know is I went down,” Herman said after the fight.

Making fans even angrier, Herman went on to record the victory after locking in a kimura submission move which forced Rodriguez to tap.

The controversial fight didn’t sit well with White who unleashed after the event and took aim at Tognoni.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto tweeted after the card had wrapped up that Rodriguez will be paid winning money.

“UFC is paying Mike Rodriguez his win money, after a referee error likely cost him a win tonight against Ed Herman. Good on the company for that decision, Mike deserves that,” Okamoto wrote.

Rodriguez’s manager Tyson Chartier responded immediately after the bout that he intends to get the appeal process underway.

“Let the appeal process begin. Proud of Mike and his performance, he deserved better than that,” Chartier wrote.

Fans were quick to blow up at Herman with many also following in the footsteps of White and slamming the referee for his actions.

That was some cheese. Ref stopped action for Ed Herman, thought he got hit with a low blow, but and it wasn't! Then Rodriquez loses by Kimura 😂😂#UFCVegas10

Wow. Ed Herman with one of the most ridiculous turnarounds of all time. That submission was incredibly slick, but it should’ve never happened. Only in MMA. #UFCVegas10

Don’t forget to thank the ref
