Tom Brady loses the plot, blows up at teammates in mammoth meltdown

Tom Brady gave his team the finger and then let them have it off the field too as he spectacularly lost the plot in the dying moments of Tampa Bays’ loss to Chicago on Friday (AEDT).

Brady murdered the Buccaneers’ final drive of the game and appeared to forget which play he was up to when his fourth down Hail Mary didn’t connect.

With Chicago regaining possession with only a few seconds to play after Brady’s inexplicable boner, he turned to officials to signal fourth down by holding up four fingers with a perplexed look on his face.

Only then did it sink in that Brady was mistaken in believing he had one final play left to try and steal the game.

The drive was killed off on the 41-yard line.

Instead, his mistaken play call handed the Bears a 20-19 win with Cairo Santos booting a 38-yard field goal with 1:13 remaining.

It was only the start of Brady’s meltdown. Arguably the greatest of all time, Brady tossed out every toy he had in the cot in a sooky tirade.

He was spotted spitting fire at his teammates on the sidelines.

He was also spotted storming off from the field without shaking hands with Bears quarterback Nick Foles, who is now a perfect 2-0 in NFL battles with Brady.

Tom Brady not going to midfield to acknowledge Nick Foles (and you can do it six feet away like everyone else was doing) was such a sore loser move by the most decorated QB in NFL history. Wow.

In a back-and-forth battle, Foles put the Bears within field goal range on their final drive, hitting Anthony Miller with a 10-yard pass and David Montgomery with a 17-yarder.

Tampa Bay — who had edged ahead on Ryan Succop’s 25-yard field goal with 4:52 remaining — had a chance to respond, but their final drive stalled at their 41-yard line after Brady’s stunning mistaken play call.

Brady completed 25 of 41 passes for 253 yards and one touchdown. Running back Ronal Jones had 17 carries for 106 yards and Succop kicked four field goals.

Foles completed 30 of 42 passes for 243 yards, one TD and one interception. Down 13-0 in the second quarter, the Bears scored two touchdowns in the final two minutes of the first half to take a 14-13 lead into the break.

Chicago’s defence played a key role in the turnaround as cornerback Kyle Fuller forced a fumble from running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn and linebacker Robert Quinn recovered.

Four plays later, Foles connected on a 12-yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Graham. Neither team scored a touchdown in the second half, but the Bears did enough to rebound from a loss to Indianapolis last weekend and improve to 4-1.

Brady and the Bucs fell to 3-2 with their first defeat since they fell to the New Orleans Saints in their season opener.
