Anthony Seibold has fired a shot at the Titans over the incredible numbers being bandied about for the signature of boom Broncos back-rower David Fifita.
Fifita is set to reject a monster $1.25 million deal from the Titans to stay with the Broncos for next year at least, but the Gold Coast won’t give up pursuing the star youngster now and in the future.
Seibold called for an end to the public bidding war from the Titans over Fifita’s signature believing the details of both clubs’ offers should remains confidential.

“I don’t think it is fair to talk about whatever is bubbling away behind the scenes with regards to money,” Seibold told NRL.com.
“Most clubs have a committee. In the old days the coach ran it and had someone looking after the numbers.
Some clubs might go rogue and make crazy offers to young players but you don’t know what every club is working towards or what they have in their cap.
“I’d hate to make comment or pass judgment on what other clubs are doing. Any player in the game that gets offered a lot of money, there is scrutiny and pressure that comes with that.”
Seibold confirmed there was no further details on Fifita’s decision after he backflipped on a decision to leave the Broncos on Tuesday night and pledged to stay on in 2021 on Wednesday.

“There is no other information on Dave today,” Seibold told The Courier Mail.
“There is no other news, there was a lot of media yesterday and out of respect to Dave and his family and both clubs, once there is news, we can communicate something.”
“I’m not going to make any comment about that this morning, it’s a private thing, I feel uncomfortable with this being played out in the media when there is a young man involved and his family is involved.

“I have no idea (if Fifita is staying), I’m not sure where that is at, it’s not really something I want to talk about, it should be played out behind closed doors.
“I’m not comfortable with it being played out in the media, Dave is a young man and I want to look after him and his family.”
Titans coach Justin Holbrook also refused to be drawn into a public back and forth with Seibold, despite Mal Meninga’s push to sign him to the richest deal in NRL history being made public.

“Dave’s a real good young guy and he will make his own decision,” he said.
“I am not going to worry about any of the details of it. I am just going to get on with my job. It is a big story in the game, I understand that … but it is ongoing.
“He has got a big decision to make so I’ll leave it up to him. If he joins our club great and if he doesn’t he doesn’t so I’m not worrying too much about it.”
