Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic thrilled Liverpool fans by scoring a sensational opener to give them the lead at home to Manchester City in the Premier League on Thursday.
The £58million midfielder scored a scintillating solo goal to put his side ahead on a night when former boss Jurgen Klopp saw his side win the title as a result of City failing to win.
Fans on social media shared their joy and joked that Klopp had told his former star to help the Reds win the league for the first time since 1990.

Another produced a photo of Klopp encouraging Pulisic on the training ground after spotting the youth teamer’s talent during his time as manager as Dortmund.
They suggested that a time traveller to 2014 would have heard Klopp and Pulisic agreeing ‘a mission’ to end City’s title hopes six years later.

Klopp was strongly rumoured to have been interested in taking Pulisic to Anfield before he became the most expensive American player in history when he completed his move to Stamford Bridge in January 2019.
