Arsenal flop Denis Suarez explains why Thomas Partey will not have same problem

Former Arsenal midfielder Denis Suarez has revealed why new Gunners signing Thomas Partey should fare much better than himself in the Premier League.

Partey joined Arsenal on transfer deadline day in a big money move from Atletico Madrid after weeks of speculation.

The Ghanian is expected to play primarily in a defensive-midfield role for Mikel Arteta.

And ex-Gunners man Suarez, who endured a torrid time at Arsenal during his loan spell from Barcelona, insists that there is one key attribute Partey has that will help him settle in much quicker than he did.

“Arsenal lacked a player of that profile," said Suarez. "Thomas, because of his physique, will feel comfortable in England.”

Suarez rejoined boyhood club Celta last summer and made 28 appearances in all competitions last season, as well as starting all four of their games so far this term.

And the 26-year-old admits he is pleased to have shaken off most of the injury problems that plagued him at Arsenal and Barcelona.

“When I was young and at Celta I always thought I would like to play in the top division with Celta,” he added. “It was always something I had in my mind.

“I think I’ve started well this season with no physical problems, which is very important for me after my experiences last year with my injuries.

“I haven’t had a pre-season because I only trained for a week, so the first four matches can be considered to be like a pre-season. I think after match day five or six, I will be a better player for Celta.
