Arsenal have signed Atletico Madrid midfielder in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners waited until the 11th hour to spring into action, informing the La Liga outfit of their interest earlier in the day.
Partey has been a long-term target for Arsenal but his €50m (£45m) release clause was deemed to hefty in recent months.
Mikel Arteta's side wanted to drive the Ghanian's price tag down but were met with consistent resistance from Atletico.
Arsenal changed their stance, coughed up the required cash and have landed the 27-year-old right before the summer transfer window slammed shut.
Atletico tonight tweeted, confirming Partey was no longer their player: "Arsenal deposits in LaLiga the amount of Thomas Partey's termination clause, which means he unilaterally terminates his contract with our club."
And soon after, Arsenal confirmed the deal on Twitter.
"Welcome to the Partey!" they wrote.
Arsenal's legal team worked through the day at the Colney training ground, as the player underwent a medical in London.
Atletico didn't want to lose the player but faced an uphill battle to keep him at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Partey was one of the lowest paid players at the club but had been told he would be offered an improved deal once the financial difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic lessen.
Partey was keen to make the move, however, and has joined on a long-term deal.
Atletico Madrid were said to be disappointed with the lateness of Arsenal's bid, leaving them short in midfield until January.
The Gunners' number one target this summer had been Lyon star Houssem Aouar.
But the Frenchman stayed at the Ligue 1 after the Gunners missed the Friday deadline set by Jean-Michel Aulas.

Chelsea's Jorginho had also been on the club's shortlist before they opted to pay up for Partey.
Arsenal fans are delighted with the deal and that Arteta kept his word when he said the club were working on late arrivals.
“Believe me, that the ownership, the board, Edu and myself are doing everything we can to maximise the resources we have to improve the team, and sustain and keep the players that are in this club, to make this club successful," he said this weekend.
“I have 100 per cent backing from them and it is not just words, this is reality. And whoever knows me, if it wasn’t like that I would not say that. I say it because I feel it and it is true.
