Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is thought to be keen to see the back of winger Ousmane Dembele.
The Frenchman is being linked with a move to Manchester United after failing to make his mark at the Nou Camp.
Dembele joined Barca back in 2017 for a huge £135m after bursting onto the scene with Borussia Dortmund.
However, things haven’t worked out in Catalonia for the 23-year-old, who made just nine appearances in all competitions last season after suffering a serious hamstring tear which forced him to undergo surgery.
New Barca boss Koeman has been revamping his squad this summer, and it looks as though he could be heading out of the club.
There is increased competition for places in Barcelona ’s attacking line.
The rise of youngster Ansu Fati has made him a regular in the first team, while new signing Francisco Trincao has also been thrown in the mix.
Philippe Coutinho is expected to be given a second chance at Barca, having returned fresh from a Champions League triumph on loan with Bayern Munich.
ESPN report that United have identified Dembele as a back up signing if they fail to get their hands on Jadon Sancho – which is looking increasingly likely.
But instead of shelling out a lot of money on a player who has barely played in the last two years, it’s thought they would prefer an initial season-long loan with an obligation to buy.
Dembele did little to improve his chances of changing Koeman’s mind after reportedly turning up late for training on Monday morning.
Marca claim that the former Rennes man was 15 minutes late to the club's Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training complex.
Koeman is thought to demand a lot of respect for deadlines and organisation, and has ordered players to arrive for at least an hour before it gets underway.
