Luis Suarez has hit out at exit rumours linking him with a move away from Barcelona.
Ronald Koeman’s appointment as head coach has sparked speculation the Dutchman is eager to offload Suarez, with Ajax mooted as potential suitors.
With Lionel Messi handing in a transfer request, Suarez has clearly been irked by the rumours over his future.
He said on Instagram: ‘There are people talking about me or in my name when for years I’ve had no relationship with them. When I have to talk, I talk for myself.’
Messi and Suarez are close friends and there is speculation the treatment of the striker was the final straw for Barcelona’s talisman.
Suarez joined the Catalan giants from Liverpool in 2014 and is Barcelona’s third all-time goalscorer with 198 goals.
Barcelona is planning a massive clear out of players before the close of the transfer window in October, but the club are fighting to keep hold of Messi.
The Argentina international does not believe the club is moving in the right direction and is reportedly keen on a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
City are one of the few clubs in world football who may be able to afford Messi, with the 33-year-old earning a reported £54million a year at Barcelona.
But before Messi can think about a new club he must resolve his issues with Barcelona, who insist he will not be leaving on a free transfer.
Messi has a £632m release clause, but no club is expected to have the means to match that figure in the current window.
