Brighton vs Burnley LIVE: Latest score, goals and updates from Premier League fixture today

Brighton are hosting Burnley in the Premier League this evening in the opening game of the weekend.

Brighton come into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Spurs but will take encouragement from a competitive performance there, as well as the return of Neal Maupay to the squad. Burnley have been struggling for goals and are bottom of the table, still searching for their first win of the campaign.

Follow all the action from the Amex Stadium below:

27 mins: Lallana create more problems for Burnley. This time driving in from the ledft and sending a pass to the near post. Welbeck makes the run but doesn’t get a clean connection on it.

24 mins: Burn, out wide on the left, slips it inside to Lallana. He whips in a quick cross and splits the Burnley defence picking out Gross on the penalty spot. He heads it a goal but doesn’t generate enough power and Pope catches it safely.

21 mins: Solid defending from Westwood as Welbeck plays a nice one-two to get himself into Burnley’s box. He tries to open himself up to create space for a shot but Westwood forces him towards the byline and squeezes in between him and the ball before he clears it away.

18 mins: Veltman throws the ball to Gross who switches the ball out to Burn on the left. He brings it down nicely and none of the Burnley defenders press him. Burn hits one on the half volley and just misses to the left of goal. Decent effort.

15 mins: Another Burnley free kick just inside of Brighton’s half is pumped into the far side of the box. It’s headed out but McNeil keeps it alive and finds Taylor. He crosses and picks out Wood. Wood’s header is soft and Ryan clings onto the ball.

12 mins: Maupay is dispossessed in the box before he can shoot. He had a bit of space but looks low on confidence.

It’s a bit sketchy this game as Barnes is caught offside at the other end for Burnley.

9 mins: Barnes wins a free kick in the Brighton half. It’s sent into the box by Westwood but Burn is there to head it out to Maupay.

Brighton then counter attack and Lamptey bombs forward down the left wing. He dinks a chipped cross into the box for Welbeck but Taylor beats him to the ball and wins a free kick.

3 mins: Oh my! Lowton brings the ball down the right wing and looks into the box. He tries to pick out Wood but mishits the cross and gets lucky. It turns into a shot and Ryan is caught off his line and as he back tracks to get to the ball it rattles into the crossbar!

Kick off: Brighton get us underway and almost score straight away. Gross chips the ball over the top and Welbeck brings it down in the box. He cuts the ball back to Lamptey who fires his shot over the bar!

The teams are ready in the tunnel. Brighton have scored 11 goals this season more than they ever have in the opening seven games of a season.

They have scored in every league game this year as well. Will that continue tonight? Kick off is next…
