Antonio Rudiger has reportedly decided he would like to join Tottenham should he leave Chelsea. The centre-back is now surplus to requirements under Frank Lampard, despite being a former favourite of the Blues manager.
Rudiger had been part of Lampard’s first-choice centre-back pairing with Andreas Christensen last season but lost his place in the side after lockdown.
A string of poor performances saw Kurt Zouma take his place and Rudiger has not had a chance since.
The German international has been banished from the squad for a fifth game in a row for the visit of Crystal Palace with his future at Stamford Bridge hanging by a thread.
While there has been no bust up with Lampard, the Chelsea boss has decided that he wants to offload the former Roma man.

Tottenham are one of several clubs to have expressed an interest in his services.
Daniel Levy is currently in the market for a centre-back and a loan would suit Tottenham down to the ground.
According to The Athletic, Rudiger’s preference is to join Spurs amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona and clubs in Germany.
Tottenham have held talks with Inter Milan for Milan Skriniar but he looks set to stay in Italy.

That could see Tottenham turn attentions to Rudiger but the consensus amongst the Chelsea board is that they do not want to let him join a direct rival.
Not only that but there remains tension between the two clubs as seen during Lampard’s touchline spat with Jose Mourinho during Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash.
Spurs also beat Chelsea to the signing of Fernando Llorente in 2017, a signing Antonio Conte was desperate to make while the Blues also hijacked Tottenham’s transfer for Willian in 2013.
French football expert Jonathan Johnson claims that PSG want to sign Rudiger and they are shopping exclusively in the loan market.
Premier League done deals: Every confirmed transfer in the summer window so far
“There are a number of players that PSG are interested in and there’s a couple at Chelsea actually,” he told Sky Sports News.
“The problem for PSG is that they need to raise funds, quite a significant amount actually of around €60million (£54m) between transfer fees and wages.
“So PSG are exclusively looking into the loan market and the hope is to be able to strengthen in defence.
“[Antonio] Rudiger is a player that both Leonardo [PSG sporting director] and Thomas Tuchel are very happy with however the issue is trying to convince Chelsea to part with him on loan.”
