Frank Lampard’s first season at Chelsea is beginning to look like a real success story after The Blues booked their place in the FA Cup final.
After seeing off Man Utd in the last four, Lampard will lead Chelsea out at Wembley, by which time they may have sealed third spot in the Premier League.
Already the club have been preparing for next season though, and the summer transfer window will allow Lampard his first real shot at shaping the squad in his image.
Chelsea have already been busy with deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, with many predicting more arrivals in the near future.
With that in mind, here are the latest Chelsea transfer round-ups.
Kai Havertz has agreed terms with Chelsea, according to Sky Italy.
Havertz, 21, is coming off the back of a fine season in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen during which he managed 12 goals and six assists in 30 games. That has seen Havertz linked with a string of top European clubs, but it now appears that Chelsea have won the race to sign him, with Sky claiming wages have been agreed between the two parties.
Lampard was coy about Havertz when asked in his press conference this week.
“I’m not talking about Kai Havertz,” he laughed. “I’ve said before, he’s a player of another team. Looking at the game tomorrow, which is so huge for this club, the last thing I want to do is talk about players for other teams.”
Chelsea are targeting Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson with an offer to more than double his wages, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Frank Lampard remains unconvinced by Kepa Arrizabalaga and is said to be entertaining other goalkeeping options, including the 23-year-old. Henderson is estimated to earn in the region of £70,000 a week, with Chelsea ready to offer him £170,000-a-week wages.
This comes after a report from the MEN last month claimed Manchester United are ready to offer Henderson a new deal and include him as part of their first-team squad, with a view to him challenging David de Gea for the number one spot.
Chelsea will attempt to sign Marc-Andre ter Stegen, according to reports.
The Barcelona shot-stopper is highly-regarded across Europe and has been earmarked by Frank Lampard as a possible replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga — the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.
The Blues are all too aware of how hard it will be to agree a deal with Barca but feel confident in mounting an attempt regardless, according to Mundo Deportivo .
Chelsea will be monitoring the 28-year-old’s contract negotiations with Barcelona in the hope it could open the door to him moving to Stamford Bridge.
