Chelsea transfers: Mourinho eyes raid, Hudson-Odoi to Man Utd, Everton showing interest

Chelsea have been busy in the summer transfer window but could still bring more players in and trim their squad before Monday’s 11pm deadline. Blues boss Frank Lampard is desperate to compete with Liverpool for the title.

Premier League pair linked with Kurt Zouma

Everton and Leicester City are both considering a last-minute move for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, as per a report in Le10 Sport.

Zouma started the Blues’ first two Premier League games of the season, but the arrival of Thiago Silva has pushed him down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Everton and Leicester have both been linked with defensive reinforcements before the transfer window closes after missing out on Gabriel Magalhaes and James Tarkowski respectively.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are rumoured to be ahead of the Foxes in the race to snap up the France international, after failing to agree a permanent deal for him after a loan spell at Goodison Park in 2018/19.

Chelsea are under no pressure to sell Zouma, who is under contract until 2023, and the Blues could demand in the region of £40million to part ways with him.

Tottenham eye Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger as Milan Skriniar alternative

Tottenham are considering a shock move for Chelsea centre back Antonio Rudiger after being priced out of a move for Inter defender Milan Skriniar.

Jose Mourinho has been linked with a late dip into the transfer market to sign a new defender, and Germany international Rudiger has emerged as a target according to Sky Sports.

Rudiger is yet to feature for Frank Lampard’s side in this season, with speculation intensifying that he could now be fifth choice at centre-back, behind Andreas Christensen, Fikayo Tomori, Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma.

Lampard has insisted he remains open-minded over a possible exit for the 27-year old, although the former England midfielder is only likely to sanction a loan move to another Premier League club.

Lampard dismisses Callum Hudson-Odoi exit talk amid Manchester United links

Frank Lampard has moved to end speculation over a potential exit for Blues star Callum Hudson-Odoi in the final week of the transfer window, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Hudson-Odoi was linked with a move to Bayern Munich last summer, before eventually signing a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

However, his future at the club was thrown into doubt ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, following the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

But after a vital goal in the 3-3 draw at West Brom last weekend, Lampard insisted he has no interest in selling the England international to Manchester United or any interested parties.

“We are not inundated with wingers,” said Lampard.

“We lost Pedro and Willian in the summer and we need competition and players because of the stress of the competitions we have to play in.

“I certainly hope Callum has a big part to play this season. If Callum comes on and makes an impact like he did against West Brom, if he keeps improving and developing every day, he is a huge talent – so let’s see.”
