Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek is set for a move to Manchester United.
Mirror Sport understands the Red Devils have won the race to land the Dutchman, 23, after a late attempt from Tottenham to hijack the deal.
He will arrive in a £40million deal in the coming days after being impressed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s determination to sign him.
After deciding his future lies at Old Trafford, Van de Beek will now face another big choice when he arrives to put pen to paper on a five-year deal with an option of an extra 12 months.
Van de Beek arrives at Manchester United with the No.6 shirt he has worn at Ajax unavailable as it currently belongs to Paul Pogba.
Whilst Pogba could change his number, it seems unlikely such a high-profile player will change ahead of the new season.
Instead, van de Beek is much more likely to have to choice one of the numbers currently available.
That includes the famous No.7 shirt, although that could be reserved as a sweetener for Jadon Sancho who they still hope to sign at some stage.
The No.11 shirt is also available, although not traditionally a number for a central midfielder.

If Van de Beek wants to keep a number six on his back, then a departure for Marcos Rojo could free-up the No.16 shirt.
Mason Greenwood could also be rewarded with a promotion from his No.26 shirt and free up that number, whilst the No.36 is currently unused.
Other unused numbers include 19, 27, 28 and 30 as Van de Beek faces his first big decision as a Manchester United player.
