With the transfer window re-opening on Monday, speculation about players moving across Europe has ramped up. 

A number of top players have been linked with moves to the Premier League, with young stars and World Cup winners amongst them. 

Sportsmail takes a look at five players who could be playing in English football by the time next season starts on September 12. 

Kai Havertz is one of the brightest talents in European football and looks set to join Chelsea


Chelsea are discussing a deal worth up to £73million for the Bayer Leverkusen forward.

The 21-year-old wants to link up with fellow Germany stars Antonio Rudiger and Timo Werner at Chelsea and an agreement is likely. His arrival could lead to a few departures from Stamford Bridge, though


Lyon are prepared to listen to offers for the former Chelsea and Ajax forward. 

Lyon value striker Bertrand Traore at around £30million and Leicester are among his admirers

Still only 24, Lyon value the Burkina Faso international at around £30million but are open to negotiation as they look to sell a number of players to offset financial difficulties. 

Leicester City are known to be among his admirers.   


The Roma striker was on loan at Red Bull Leipzig this season and his form has attracted a number of enquiries from Premier League sides including Newcastle United. 

The Czech Republic international, 24, is valued at £25m but clubs are hopeful Roma may be open to another loan deal with an obligation to buy.

The 28-year-old World Cup winner is a free agent after his contract ran down at Borussia Dortmund and his representatives hope to hold talks with interested English clubs over the next week. 

Gotze has an ambition to play for a top side in the Premier League but also has interest from Italy and Germany.

The 20-year-old Spain international winger wants to join Manchester City and they are hopeful of reaching a compromise with Valencia, who have been demanding £40m. 

City want to add at least two defenders and a midfielder too, with AC Milan’s Ismael Bennacer among those discussed.
