Footballer Stephane Zubar mocked after his shameful act was caught on camera

We’ve witnessed countless diving attempts in football over the years, but this pitiful effort from former Bournemouth defender Stephane Zubar goes down as one of the worst.

Representing AFC Totton in England’s Southern League on the weekend, Zubar made himself look foolish after unnecessarily collapsing on the turf during a match against Thatcham Town.

During a break a play, a spectator booted the football back onto the pitch, which inadvertently stuck the 34-year-old in the arm.

Footage from the pavilion showed Zubar briefly turn around, before dramatically clutching his arm and hitting the deck.

Honestly thought he was having a bit of banter until the ref came over.

That's embarrassing 😭

The damning clip quickly went viral, accumulating over 260,000 views on Twitter.

Sports reporter Aaron Flanagan tweeted: “Remember Stephane Zubar, the former Bournemouth chap? Well, he’s now got the most sensitive elbow in football.”

AFC Totton eventually lost the match 2-1, with Sam Griffin their only goalscorer. The club currently sits in second spot on the league table, with six wins from eight encounters.

Zubar made 24 appearances for English side Bournemouth between 2011 and 2016, the club earning promotion to the Premier League in his final two seasons.

Zubar also played two international fixtures for Guadeloupe in 2011.
