Kevin De Bruyne believes England have potential to do Euros and World Cup double

Kevin De Bruyne believes England have the talent to win next year’s Euros and the World Cup in Qatar.

The Three Lions have progressed under Gareth Southgate and reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2018 for the first time in 28 years.

England lost twice to Belgium in Russia and face the Red Devils again in the Nations League on Sunday.

But Belgian and Man City star De Bruyne, who is set to feature against the Three Lions at Wembley, believes it could be double glory for England over the next couple of years.

"I think they should be very excited," De Bruyne said.

"It is a very young team with a lot of potential and I think they should aim to win the next Euros and World Cup – I think they have that potential.

"There are always a lot of teams who want to win it, but I think the team they have, the players who play in top clubs, they should do that."

And Belgium boss Roberto Martinez admitted that Southgate has a wealth of talent at his disposal.

"His players are as good as anyone individually in world football and it is just a matter of time that they will get that trophy or major result in a major tournament," Martinez said.

While Southgate enjoys the decisions he has to make regarding picking his team with Dominic Calvert-Lewin battling Harry Kane for the No 9 role.
