Kalidou Koulibaly’s future with Napoli has been thrown into uncertainty after the Italian club reportedly agreed terms with Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The 22-year-old centre back has been targeted by a host of Premier League clubs this summer – but it appears that the young star is now heading to Serie A after giving the green light to the move.
And Magalhaes’ potential arrival has placed further question marks over what lies ahead for Koulibaly during the transfer market.

The Manchester Evening News have reported that Napoli are closing in on the deal for Magalhaes following a £22million bid.
Koulibaly has been widely regarded as one of the best defenders in Europe in recent seasons and speculation has mounted over a potential big-money switch away this summer.
But, despite the interest from several elite clubs, Koulibaly has continued to remain in Naples.

The situation may have taken another twist, however, with recent reports suggesting Napoli would now be open to the idea of selling the 29-year-old.
Despite the Serie A outfit initially valuing Koulibaly at around £90m before the coronavirus outbreak, Corriere dello Sport instead stated that president Aurelio De Laurentiis would now settle for offers of £70m.
It was also claimed that any bids received for the defender were closer to £55m – and, after negotiations failed to materialise, Koulibaly has hinted he may instead renew his contract.
Last month, he told La Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘I never spoke to Napoli about leaving. If we have to find a solution, we will find it, but I have never talked about the transfer market.

‘I also read in the newspapers about my future. But I only want to think about playing, I am 100 per-cent [committed to] Napoli and it bothers me to be linked, every day, to this or that European club.
‘We will see what the president will decide and if he proposes to extend my contract, that would allow me to end my career here.’
Both Arsenal and Manchester United were also touted to make a move for Magalhaes over the coming weeks but are set to miss out on luring him to the English top flight instead.
