Sabri Lamouchi is on the brink at Nottingham Forest and set to leave this week.
The Reds' Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis is dismayed at the club's start to the new campaign after four straight League losses.
He resisted the temptation to fire Lamouchi at the end of last season when the club's form deserted them to miss out on the play-offs on goal-difference.
But a parting is now very close after Marinakis warned the squad in a Zoom session before the season kicked-off that he expected better.
Lamouchi has been backed this term with 13 new players after the side finished last season with three points from their final six games.
This included a final day 4–1 loss at home to Stoke to miss out on the top six on goal difference.
Lamouchi survived as Marinakis insisted on changes to his backroom staff instead.
But the former French international midfielder is unlikely to be in charge much longer with a change on the cards this international break.
He may even be offered an escape route at Al Duhail who are reported to have been in contact as the 48-year-old previously managed fellow Qatari side El Jaish from 2014-2017.
