Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will lift the Premier League trophy for the first time in their history on Wednesday.
The Reds were crowned Premier League champions weeks ago but will finally get their hands on the trophy after playing Frank Lampard’s Chelsea at Anfield.
But despite a season of dominance, the transfer rumour mill continues to circulate around the red half of Merseyside with a number of big names linked.
In order for that to happen, there may need to be a change in tact at boardroom level with the Reds seemingly reluctant to spend significant amounts of money in an uncertain financial landscape.
Here are the latest Liverpool transfer rumours for Tuesday July 21.
Liverpool are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Watford ’s Ismaila Sarr in the upcoming transfer window.
The 22-year-old has been in good form this season and established himself as a regular for the Hornets despite the side battling relegation for the majority of the campaign.
Reports suggest that Klopp’s side may view the Senegalese winger as a more affordable recruit with Manchester United also eying up the highly-rated youngster.
If Liverpool are to make a move, Sarr could be an exciting option for the future and add much needed squad depth in attack given that Adam Lallana is set to leave the club this summer and Xherdan Shaqiri might also depart.
Wolves have reportedly placed a £135million price tag on winger Adama Traore after links with moves to Liverpool and Manchester City.
According to the Sunday Times, cited here, Wolves are keen to detract any competition for Traore’s signature with an extraordinary valuation of £135million.
The likelihood of any side being able to afford that type of fee for the Wolves man this summer is minimal and Liverpool could be hard pushed to spend anything in the transfer market regardless.
A move for Traore may not make a whole lot of sense for Liverpool but the addition of such an exciting player somewhere down the line could be an interesting prospect.
Lille striker Victor Osimhen has been widely touted as one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe this season.
A move to Napoli is believed to be on the cards but, as reported by CalcioNapoli24 via Sport Witness, Liverpool could be in the running to sign the striker.
The report states that the Nigerian’s new agent William d’Avila keeps in contact with Liverpool and Klopp on a regular basis.
Lille’s €80million valuation of the striker may be a big stumbling block for the Reds but that fee could come down if a bid came in from a Champions League team.
