Manchester City’s website mistakenly branded Kalidou Koulibaly as the club’s new signing following the arrival of Ruben Dias.
Dias joined City from Benfica on Monday with Pep Guardiola’s side paying £64m for their new centre-back.
Napoli star Koulibaly has been heavily-linked with a move to the Etihad all summer though a deal is now unlikely following Dias’s arrival.
Though City appeared to have had a template made up for if the Senegalese star did make the switch to the Premier League.
In announcing Dias, City’s website offered fans the chance to win a signed Koulibaly shirt, labelling him as a new signing.
The mistake was quickly rectified though fans were swift to spot it and shared an image across social media.
Dias has arrived at City with five goals having been conceded to Leicester in their first home game of the season.
Nicolas Otamendi has gone the other way for £13.7m, and Dias has signed a six-year contract at the Etihad.
“I want to be in a team that wants to win and can win,” Dias said.
