Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed triple fitness boost ahead of West Brom

Manchester United have been handed a triple fitness boost as they welcome West Brom to Old Trafford this evening.

Marcus Rashford, Alex Telles and Victor Lindelof have all been doubts in recent weeks – but were all spotted at the team's Lowry Hotel this afternoon.

The Manchester Evening News reported the three are therefore in contention to start this evening, unlike Paul Pogba who was not seen with his team-mates.

Lindelof featured for Sweden during the break but has been struggling with a back problem for weeks.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference on Friday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “We’ll have to check Victor tomorrow because his back is not great.

“He had it last season as well, and I think it’s more to do with when the games come thick and fast. I think when he gets a few days of extra recovery he should be alright.

“He felt really well and comfortable in the first game for Sweden, after the rest in the friendly game.

“Then he started feeling it again against France and the games are coming thick and fast. It is an issue that we have to manage but hopefully we don’t have to do any surgery or anything serious.”

As for Rashford, the striker missed England's games against Ireland, Belgium and Iceland.

But the fan-favourite has trained this week, along with Telles who has recovered from Covid-19.

Speaking this week, Solskjaer added: “The short version is it’s Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard and Phil Jones are the only ones who didn’t join in parts of the training today.

“Some are in different stages after internationals, recoveries and working back after illness and fitness and we’ll make a decision tonight, but most of them have joined in today and some yesterday, so it’s looking good.”

As for Pogba, the player featured for France during the international break.

But his Old Trafford future is up in the air at present.
