Man Utd discussing No 1 ultimatum with Dean Henderson’s agent but will quintuple wages

Manchester United are currently in talks with Dean Henderson’s agent over a new deal and they are ready to hand him an opportunity as No 1. The club are set to welcome back the 23-year-old next season following two years on loan at Sheffield United, where he made a huge impression.

Henderson has made it clear that he feels his form warrants an opportunity between the sticks at Old Trafford.

David de Gea has endured a difficult campaign in which he has made a number of high-profile errors.

That’s why Henderson feels as though the time has come for a new goalkeeper at United, despite his respect for the Spaniard.

Earlier this week Sheffield United dropped a hint that Henderson was staying at United for the upcoming campaign.

The Cherries snubbed the offer but it is clear Chris Wilder is on the lookout for a new No 1.

It was only last month that he insisted he wanted Henderson back at Bramall Lane for a third spell if possible.

According to Football Consultant Ian McGarry, United are discussing a new deal with Henderson’s agent while they also look ready to hand him a chance as No 1 for pre-season.

“Henderson himself wants to play first-team football and does not want to come back as the errant No 2 to David de Gea.
