Manchester United remain locked in a stalemate with Borussia Dortmund as they attempt to sign Jadon Sancho before the transfer window closes.
Sancho was top of United's transfer wishlist at the beginning of the summer and a deal was expected to be done.
But United failed to meet Dortmund's deadline for their £108million valuation to be met and have shut down any effort from the Premier League to restart talks.
With less than two weeks left of the window time is running out for United and while transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed talks are ongoing, progress is slow.
He said: "In this moment Dortmund are in the same position they’ve been in for many weeks.
“They always say they want to keep the player if [United] don’t want to pay the €120m asking price.
“At the moment it’s very complicated because Manchester United haven’t made any moves in the last hours.
“They either have to pay the €120m or the player will stay this season.

“I am told that Manchester United are still in talks with his agents so the deal isn’t completely off but we will have to see the developments.”
Meanwhile, United have been told by Dimitar Berbatov to sign a player like 'like Rio Ferdinand' to play alongside Harry Maguire.
"I and others have big expectations for United this season. They need a centre-half, and probably further recruitment also to be competitive. At the end of the day, if Crystal Palace can score three past you, you are in trouble," he told Betfair.
"As I said, if we only judge on this game, United need to buy a whole new squad! But we can't over-react to one game on its own.
"They have less than two weeks until the window closes, and they can play some more games to figure out what they need in that time, but it's not easy. It can be hard to sign players, maybe the players don't want to come, it is hard to say, but their defence is what they need to work on.
"The goals they conceded at the weekend were poor defensive goals. If they don't strengthen up, it will be a long season for them.
"They need someone alongside Harry Maguire, look at how impressive he has been since he came in, and he is now captain. They need someone who is fast, like Rio Ferdinand was for Nemanja Vidic."
