Man Utd working on deal to sign Atalanta winger Amad Traore before deadline day

Manchester United are reportedly in talks to sign Atalanta sensation Amad Traore.

The Red Devils are currently on the lookout for wingers following their protracted pursuit of Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.

United have been reluctant to meet the Bundesliga side's £108million valuation of the England international, which has prompted them to look for cheaper alternatives.

And according to the Manchester Evening News , Traore is one of the players they're looking at bringing to Old Trafford before transfer deadline day.

It's claimed the Premier League giants are locked in talks with Atalanta over a deal for the Ivorian-born Italian citizen.

United are said to have swooped for Traore this summer due to imminent changes from the Premier League regarding the signing of foreign players aged 18-21 following Brexit.

It's claimed Traore will command a hefty fee, despite only having played 30 minutes of first-team football for the Gli Orobici.

Manchester United have had a very quiet transfer window by their standards, so far only signing one new player.

"I can’t give you any news," Solskjaer said on Wednesday night when asked about United's plans for the remainder of the window. "We are working with what we have got. We have a big squad.

"We changed 10 players from Saturday. If there is any update, we will let you know. I don’t comment on other teams’ players.

"I can’t concern myself with other clubs. I know the club is working well and hard to have a strong squad as possible. Sometimes speculation is there and we can’t control that."

Manchester United will be back in action on Sunday, welcoming Tottenham to Old Trafford.
