The 18-year-old ace has been in superb form after the restart and has netted with both feet

The young frontman has netted 17 goals in all competitions this season, his first with the first-team squad at Old Trafford.

He has also become a regular starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since the top flight returned, and ensured the manager’s faith has paid off after vital goals against Sheffield United, Everton and West Ham.

It is his unpredictability when taking aim at goal which has seen Greenwood become a thorn in the side of countless teams in recent weeks, with pundits and former players even likening him to Robin van Persie.

When questioned over his preferred foot, Greenwood told Sky Sports: ‘I’d say left. Most of my goals this season have been with my left.

‘But I’m comfortable on my right as well. Equal amounts really, that’s the training. It’s just copying it really.’

Despite his tender age, Solskjaer has continued to place trust in the talent.

It was his crucial leveller in a below-par performance at Old Trafford in mid-week that edged United into third spot. Greenwood, however, insisted he will remain grounded.

He added: ‘I just keep my head down really, i’m just enjoying my football. I’m at the best club in the world, it’s a big thing for someone my age. I’m very happy to be here.’

Ex-United full back Gary Neville even believes Greenwood will become the club’s main striker

Greenwood has formed a formidable attacking force alongside Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial since becoming a regular starter and often operates from the right-hand flank.

Former United full back, and Sky Sports pundit, Gary Neville has tipped the youngster for stardom and even believes he will become the club’s first-choice striker in the very near future.

‘It’s taken them (Martial and Rashford) a few years to get to the level they are now, it’s taken Mason one season,’ he told Sky Sports. ‘I think he’s a better finisher. He’ll be the number nine in the next 12-18 months.

‘He’s the best striker that United have. He’ll score as many goals as he wants to. He’s got to keep fit and stay grounded.’
