Marko Grujic nearing Liverpool exit as two sides eye late loan deal

Liverpool look set to loan Marko Grujic out once again before the end of the summer.

The Reds outcast featured against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup, impressing fans on Merseyside.

But the Daily Mail report both Southampton and West Ham are pushing for a late loan move before Monday's transfer deadline.

The 24-year-old has spent the last two years on loan at Hertha Berlin, impressing during his time in the Bundesliga.

However, Jurgen Klopp still doesn't look ready to use Grujic in his first-team, despite supporters fancying the midfielder to prove his worth.

Speaking last year, Grujic admitted he had sat down with Klopp to discuss his future, hinting at a future at Anfield.

"I spent a few days in Liverpool for medical tests at the end of the season," he told Sport Bild.

"We sat down together and talked about my plans.

"I have a contract with Liverpool until 2023, but we had a similar view: I was only able to call on 50 per cent of my abilities at Hertha. Niggling injuries set me back.

"He thought, and I agreed, it would be better for my development to spend another year in the Bundesliga."

West Ham and Southampton are also keen on Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
