Mesut Ozil shares video of him training alone amid Arsenal exile

Mesut Ozil has shared videos of himself working out in his garden despite it looking as though he will not play any football until February at the earliest.

The German playmaker has not featured for Arsenal since March, and he has been left out of the team's Premier League and Europa League squads amid reports of a fallout with manager Mikel Arteta.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season it is looking highly likely that Ozil will never be seen in an Arsenal shirt again.

But despite this Ozil is clearly still taking care of himself, and he shared a series of videos to his Instagram account of him training on his own.

The 32-year-old is seen doing sit-ups and push-ups, as well as work with weights.

And accompanying the video Ozil posted the caption: "#AlwaysReady #StayInShape #privatesession #M10."

Ozil has still been keeping a keen eye on the Gunners' performances despite his lack of involvement, regularly tweeting during their matches.

And their former defender Tony Adams has urged manager Mikel Arteta to bring him back into the fold after Christmas, and still thinks he could have a future at the club.

"Ozil for me is one of the best creative players in the world," Adams said on Sky Sports' The Football Show . "What he struggles with at times is the defensive side.

"To win the league we need great players, like Dennis Bergkamp. Now and again I would ask Dennis to get back in behind the ball and just do a little bit for us. That’s all Ozil needs to do.

"But when you’re putting him on the sides and asking him to go with runners, he’s not got that in him. But with [Thomas] Partey he’s got someone who can [do that]."

"I always said Ozil’s the cherry on the cake without [Arsenal having] the cake but we’re getting some players in the team [now] with stability there," he added.

"There’s signs you could get the cherry on and let him pull the strings for Aubameyang down the middle.

"I would love to see Ozil in behind feeding Aubameyang all day long."
