Emiliano Martinez, Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi have been left out by Mikel Arteta.
The Arsenal first-team manager picked his 18-man squad for the Premier League clash against Fulham, and handed starts to new signings Willian and Gabriel as well as William Saliba.
As well as the young prospects Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah, Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos made the bench, which didn’t include three of their stars who have been linked with moves away.
Martinez has been tipped to join Aston Villa having been replaced in goal by Bernd Leno, Ozil has been linked with a move to China, and Guendouzi will several European clubs having fallen out of favour.
Technical director Edu said of Ozil earlier this week: “Here, we are talking of course about performance.
“Players with performance in training, the game, they are going to have opportunities because Mikel already showed that. It is for everyone.
“We know how important everybody is. I know how important and how big the player is when you mention Mesut but in the end we are talking about performance here.
“If he is performing well, people are performing well, who is the best in the training, the best in the game, I’m sure Mikel is going to select them to be in the squads to play games or to be on the bench.”
Arteta has said of his goalkeeping dilemma: “I don’t treat the goalkeeping position any differently to the others.
“I think the one that in my opinion is training better with the goalkeeping coach has the better chance to start tomorrow and my decision will be consistent like that throughout this season.
“Then it’s for the other one to push and make him better and when his chance comes, be ready and help the team as they both did last season. Both were fantastic in my opinion.”

Before adding of his talks with Guendouzi: “Matteo has been training like any other player in the squad.
“It is a new season and we had some really positive conversations between both parties, now he’s back with the group, he is training really well.
“He went to France to play with the under-21s last week and played really well again, and he is here.”
