Real Madrid plan to raise £164m with Bale to make Bernabeu exit

Real Madrid plan to raise £164m in squad overhaul with Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Luka Jovic poised to make Bernabeu exit

Real Madrid are planning a mass player exodus in the transfer window this summer, according to reports in Spain.

While Los Blancos will inevitably look to strengthen their squad before the beginning of the 2020-21 season, Marca claim Florentino Perez is hoping to raise 180 million euros by offloading fringe players.

Financial stability is of paramount importance to all clubs following the coronavirus pandemic, and the Madrid president is looking to restructure the playing squad with manager Zinedine Zidane.

Gareth Bale could tops a long list of players likely to depart Real Madrid this summer

It is unlikely the overhaul will begin in earnest until the end of the protracted Champions League campaign, but Madrid have already sold Javi Sanchez and Achraf Hakimi to Real Valladolid and Inter Milan for a combined fee 43.5m euros.

Next they will address the uncertainty surrounding James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale, Both of whom have been on the periphery of the first team for over a year.

Bale has featured intermittently from the substitutes bench this term, but his carefree attitude and fractured relationship with Zidane could spell the end of his seven-season spell at the Bernabeu.

The Welshman’s laissez-faire attitude shows he is not in manager Zinedine Zidane’s plans

However. the Welshman has two years remaining on his current contract worth in excess of 60 million euros. Madrid will still demand a significant sum for the forward.

Rodriguez has made just 14 Real appearances this term after spending the previous two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga champions could renew their interest in James, but the attacking midfielder, now 29, could become the beneficiary of agent Jorge Mendes’ close ties with Benfica.

Luka Jovic has endured a disappointing start in La Liga and will most likely be sent out on loan

Next up, it is believed Los Blancos only want to send Luka Jovic on loan this summer, despite the forward’s challenging start to life in Spain following his big money move from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019.

The Serbian has attracted interest from AC Milan and Hertha Berlin, while former coach Niko Kovac has expressed his desire to take the player to Monaco.

Oscar Rodriguez is likely to move on despite an excellent campaign at Leganes, with Villareal and AC Milan thought to be battling it out to sign the midfielder.

Florentino Perez could convince Arsenal to pay 35 million euros for midfielder Dani Ceballos

Meanwhile, Dani Ceballos has had a positive season at Arsenal, and while the financial climate could deter the Gunners from making the move permanent, Madrid would be willing to accept a bid of 35 million euros.

Elsewhere, Jesus Vallejo, Mariano and Brahimare on the fringes of Zidane’s group and could seek transfers to gain more playing time.

In addition, Andriy Lunin, Sergio Reguilon, Matin Odegaard have been deemd surplus to requirements, with Madrid spoiled for options in their effort to raise funds for next season.
