Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has admitted that Ousmane Dembele's future at the club is up to the player, amid speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are reportedly eyeing the Frenchman as an alternative to Jadon Sancho after Borussia Dortmund rejected United's latest offer for the England international.
Dortmund's rejection underlines their stance that Sancho will not be going anywhere this summer and United are looking at other options.
Reports from Spain have claimed that United have agreed a €75million (£68m) deal to sign Dembele and Koeman has now addressed the speculation in his most recent press conference.
Speaking ahead of Barcelona's trip to Celta Vigo, Koeman claimed Dembele's future is up to club chiefs and the player himself to sort but added that he is "counting on him".
Koeman said: "The first thing to say is that it is up to the club and to the player. But he is with us and as we've seen in recent weeks I am counting on him….he has to wait to play but he is training well, getting fitter.

"I want to say that I am counting on him."
Koeman was also asked about potential incomings and spoke about the imminent arrival of right-back Sergino Dest from Ajax, who will replace new Wolves signing Nelson Semedo.
"Dest's having a medical, he still has to sign a contract", Koeman said. "He's a young full-back, it's about having young players for the club's future.

"He has to compete with the other full-backs we have. Despite his age, he's played a lot of games and he's played in Champions League. He's a very useful player."
Koeman also admitted he would like to sign another striker, adding: "I would like to have two players per position. Leo [Messi] and [Antoine] Griezmann can play as 'nine', but they are not the same type of centre-forward as Martin [Braithwaite].
"We are looking for one more."
