Jadon Sancho could be handed his dream shirt number at Manchester United – if everything falls into place during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move for the Dortmund forward, who is also keen on a return to the Premier League.
United may have to splash out as much as £100million to get the transfer over the line, but it seems Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for one believes this is a price worth paying.
Currently Sancho wears the seven shirt at Dortmund, which is the iconic number at United, previously worn by the likes of David Beckham, Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Unfortunately, it is currently occupied by Alexis Sanchez at Man United.
However, the Chilean doesn't appear to have a future at Old Trafford, despite Solskjaer's recent change of heart, and looks certain to leave the club this month.
Sanchez spent this season on loan at Inter Milan, and he appears happy to remain in Italy.
And should he complete a transfer away from United this summer then Sancho's favoured number seven shirt would become free.
United are still some way away from completing a deal for Sancho, who has been linked with a plethora of top clubs in recent months.
Liverpool are the latest club to have their name thrown in the ring after it was claimed in Germany that Sancho would favour a move to Anfield over United.
