Manchester United transfer targets Jadon Sancho and Ousmane Dembele’s statistics show why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to prioritise them.
The Reds Devils have hit further road blocks in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s star forward, who has been the subject of a £100m transfer saga.
While the Red Devils had “agreed” personal terms, several representatives of the German side have remained adamant that the Englishman will stay.
It has seen United turn their attention to Barcelona forward Dembele, with a loan move from the Nou Camp being discussed.
But the Frenchman’s desire to stay in Spain could prove to be the latest challenge for Solskjaer to face.
It has seen the Premier League side turn their attention to other deals as they look for a new forward this season.
But Sancho and Dembele’s incredible attacking stats show why United need to keep pushing until the transfer window closes on October 5.
Since his first senior appearance for Dortmund in 2017, Sancho has been directly involve in 59 league goals, according to statmandave.
Dembele has recorded 57 direct goal involvements – but that is since his first senior appearance for Rennes in 2015.
United’s front three of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood scored 62 goals between them last season.
The English teenager made his breakthrough to the first team last year, meaning he has been involved in 11 senior league goals.
Since Sancho’s debut, though, Rashford and Martial have both been short of the 20-year-old in their creative impact.
It comes as Solskajer has remained tight-lipped on United’s plans for the highly-rated European forwards.
Speaking before the Carabao Cup win over Brighton, the manager said: ”I can't give you any news. We are working with what we have got. We have a big squad.
“We changed 10 players from Saturday. If there is any update, we will let you know.”
