England trio Tammy Abraham, Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell look certain to miss Thursday’s home nations clash against Wales after breaking Covid regulations.
The Football Association have confirmed the trio will report later for international duty as footage emerged of them at Abraham’s surprise birthday party on Saturday night, which breached UK coronavirus regulations.
The threesome are expected to undergo their Covid tests away from St George’s Park before reporting for duty, provided their results come back negative – though the FA are aware that any symptoms may not appear for another couple of days.
Gareth Southgate ruled out Tammy Abraham, Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell against Wales
But the three players are not expected to report for duty until Wednesday at the earliest and with the game against Wales scheduled for Thursday, manager Gareth Southgate is set to be without Abraham, Sancho and Chilwell for the friendly.
However, the trio could come back into consideration for the matches against Belgium and Denmark.
It is understood Southgate and his staff had considered leaving the three players out of his squad altogether as details emerged of the party, but for now the trio are still due to report for duty later this week.
