New Liverpool signing Thiago Alcantara will reportedly be available to make his debut in the crunch match against Chelsea on Sunday. Liverpool have signed Thiago from Bayern Munich on a four-year deal with the midfielder being handed the No 6 shirt.
The Reds have reportedly given Bayern just £5m up front with £15m being paid over the course of his contract – plus £5m of potential add-ons.
He joins a Liverpool squad with an array of options in midfield.
Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were the preferred trio last season with Naby Keita coming in for the latter in their opening game of the season against Leeds last week.
Klopp may not have expected to have Thiago available for selection until the EFL Cup tie against Lincoln.

But BT report that Thiago’s paperwork was completed in time to make him available for selection to face Chelsea on Sunday.
Liverpool didn’t announce that Thiago had signed until 4pm BST, but it appears as though the paperwork had been finalised earlier in the day.
New Premier League signings would have had until 12pm on Friday to ensure they’re eligible to play this weekend.
It suggests that Thiago had already signed the necessary paperwork to give him a chance of making his debut against Chelsea.

And Jurgen Klopp has indicated the 29-year-old could be included immediately in the matchday squad just two days after signing.
When asked when fans would first get to see a glimpse of Thiago on the pitch, Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “If they watch LFCTV this afternoon, he will train!”
He added: “You meant the match…we will see. I didn’t make the squad now for Sunday. We will see what we can do.
“I didn’t meet him now, we had only phone calls and exchanged messages.
“So, let’s have a look how he feels.
“Around a transfer like this the days are pretty busy with things you usually don’t do.
“If he looks all right, we will find the right place for him.”
