Jose Mourinho is preparing for a busy final week of the window in a desperate effort to bring in a new centre half.
Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar is top of Mourinho’s wish list but Tottenham are miles apart on the £50m valuation and also being able to afford him.
Tottenham boss Mourinho believes the central defender will strengthen his team’s back line but also knows that they will have to clear the decks to bring new players in.
Despite holding talks over Skriniar, the deal looks deadlocked with Spurs yet to make a firm bid. But Spurs could let four or five players go out in the hope of bringing in two new faces.
Mourinho also wants to bring in a back-up striker while publicly insisting he has too many players in the congested midfield area which is the reason question marks remain over Dele Alli.
Tottenham are ready to sell Juan Foyth while they are also set to loan Ryan Sessegnon with interest from abroad and domestically.
