Arsenal duo David Luiz and Dani Ceballos were involved in a violent bust-up at the club’s training ground during the latest international break, according to reports.

Mikel Arteta put those who were not away with their national sides through their paces in a training match last Friday.

And according to The Athletic, Luiz reacted furiously when Arteta blew the final whistle after taking exception to a late challenge from Ceballos.

It is believed the Brazilian struck his team-mate in the face at the end of the practice session, scratching him enough to draw blood.

He is also said to have hit Ceballos on the nose and sent him tumbling to the ground, but when the midfielder returned to his feet and went to confront him they were split up by team-mates and staff.

The pair were reportedly sent home by Arteta and had three days off before returning to their London Colney training complex on Tuesday.

They have since cleared the air, with Luiz and Ceballos apologising to their colleagues before Arteta left them alone to discuss the fallout and decide if they were prepared to return to training as normal.

Training is understood to have ensued positively from that point onwards with no further problems.

Ceballos, who was not seriously injured from the incident, was also involved in an altercation with Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah before their win away at Fulham on the opening day of the season.

TV cameras picked up a scuffle between the pair in the warm-up at Craven Cottage, but they quickly solved their differences and were friends again at full time.
