Why FIFA 21 Man Utd fans can’t play with Edinson Cavani and Facundo Pellestri

Manchester United fans hoping to play with Edinson Cavani in the latest edition of FIFA 21 have been left disappointed as the Uruguayan striker is nowhere to be seen on the game.

On Monday, United completed a deadline day deal for the former Paris Saint-Germain striker on a one-year-contract.

Cavani’s last appearance was in March for PSG and in the summer he left the Ligue 1 club.

It means he has been a free agent ever until United picked him up and wasn’t included in FIFA.

As a result, United fans must wait for an update by FIFA 21 developers before they can play with Cavani.

United’s other deadline day signings – Alex Telles, Facundo Pellestri and Amad Diallo Traore – are on the game and can be moved via the club transfers option.

The highest rated United player is Bruno Fernandes at 87 in a reflection of his stunning impact since joining in January.

He is followed by David de Gea and Paul Pogba, who have both seen their ratings drop.

While Marcus Rashford’s rating has jumped from 83 to 85.

Meanwhile, Cavani has been opening up on decision to become a United player.

He told ManUtd.com: “I feel very happy to have come to this club. I feel very motivated and I’m really keen to get started training with my team-mates.

“But the best thing about it is that the club have shown their confidence in me by wanting to bring me in.

“I was really keen to come here. I’m very motivated by the idea of joining this great club and so, well, here we are today.”

Cavani also revealed he spoke to former United midfielder Ander Herrera about the club before joining.

He added: “I spoke with Ander a lot, as well as other team-mates, like Angel Di Maria, who I was also with at Paris. It was genuinely getting to the last minute and I called Ander to have a chat.

“I have a lot of admiration for Ander, for the kind of person he is and I had the feeling that his words were going to help me out, by telling me a bit about what it was like at United.

“And so, yes, it’s true that after I’d finished talking with Ander, we came to an agreement here with the club. I hadn’t known Ander for too long, but we formed and enjoyed a close friendship during that time at PSG, and today we are still very good mates.”
