ROYAL RANDWICK

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 15828

OPACITY (Race 1, No. 5 — $3.30)

Opacity won five of his seven starts during his three-year-old season featuring successive wins at Randwick including his defeat of older horses over 1600m before his spell. Unbeaten third-up from a spell, Opacity looks well placed over the Randwick 1600m and has Hugh Bowman to ride. Ready to win.

Value bet: ROCK (Race 7, No. 13 — $7)

MATT JONES (Daily Telegraph). Form: 2364x

FIERCE IMPACT (Race 4, No. 1 — $2.20)

He’s won a number of Group 1s already yet remain underrated. He looks primed for a big 2000m effort here in a race where only a couple can compete with him.

Value bet: ROCK (Race 7, No. 13 — $7)

SHAYNE O’CASS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 33651

ENTHAAR (Race 2, No. 4 — $1.75)

Red-hot odds-on favourite for the Gimcrack Stakes and judging on her trial win, she is deservedly short. The Maher/Eustace filly has James McDonald on; he was of course there for her easy win in at the official 2YO trials where she (Enthaar) ran faster time than Libertini.

Value bet: SHAQUERO (Race 3, No. 12 — $6)

DARREN PRENDERGAST (NewsRacing). Form: x1547

CLASSIQUE LEGEND (Race 6, No. 2 — $3.10)

Everest contender charged home to score an impressive win first-up. Has the talent to topple Nature Strip.

Value bet: FUNSTAR (Race 7, No. 12 — $11)

CLINTON PAYNE (Racenet). Form: 3171

VANNA GIRL (Race 7, No. 20 — $17)

Caught the eye late resuming in the Tramway and the sectionals backed up the eye. Suited up to the mile, no weight and she’ll relish the way the race will be run. A great each-way bet.

Value bet: CARIF (Race 8, No. 11 — $34)

JETT HATTON (Racenet). Form: 1316

DAME GISELLE (Race 5, No. 1 — $2.80)

She’s beat Hungry Heart fair and square at her last two starts and while the mile is expected to suit that horse, Dame Giselle has given every indication the trip won’t pose any issues. Looks a two horse race but we expect Dame Giselle to win again and complete a clean sweep of the Princess Series.

Value bet: HUSH WRITER (Randwick Race 8, No. 9 — $9)

FLEMINGTON

GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun). Form: 01261

TOFANE (Race 4, No. 4 — $2.80)

Class mare who was super in the Bobbie Lewis and has a great second-up record.

Value bet: PROBABEEL (Rand Race 7, No. 11 — $6)

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (NewsRacing). Form: 13811

SEPTEMBER RUN (Race 2, No. 8 — $3.20)

Won at the track and distance last start, running the best last 600m and 400m of the meeting — and did so as the closest horse to the rail down the Flemington straight which is usually a disadvantage. This time he’s drawn closer to the outside rail.

Value bet: STEEL PRINCE (Race 6, No. 4 — $6.50)

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 11221

GENERAL BEAU (Race 1, No. 1 — $2.50)

Cruised to victory on debut over 900m and looks well placed to maintain his unbeaten record. The draw is perfect and he has the big advantage over most of the field of race day experience.

Value bet: FABRIC (Race 8, No. 10 — $14)

BRAD WATERS (Racenet). Form: 32

SEPTEMBER RUN (Race 2, No. 8 — $3.20)

Impressive down the straight last time. Takes on the males but can win again.

Value bet: MASTER OF WINE (Race 7, No. 6 — $7.50)

SIMON MOY (NewsRacing). Form: 01261

TOFANE (Race 4, No. 4 — $2.80)

Enjoys 3kg weight swing for narrow defeat to Zoutori when motoring late and has impressive record second-up.

Value bet: RUBISAKI (Race 8, No. 2 — $5)

LATEST BETTING: TAB FIXED ODDS

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS

WARREN PARTLAND (The Advertiser). Form: 2s3

SEEMINGLY DISCREET (Race 7, No. 5 — $3)

Could not have been more impressive when resuming. Showed tremendous speed from the gate to lead easily and never looked troubled here on September 5, even being eased down in winning by three lengths.

Value bet: POYSED TO REIN (Race 9, No. 3 — $7.50)

LATEST BETTING: TAB FIXED ODDS
